The conversation surrounding cosmetic treatments has, more often than not, been an uncomfortable one for dozens of celebrities in the past—but not for Christina Aguilera. As the new spokeswoman for Xeomin, an FDA-approved anti-wrinkle injection designed to temporarily improve the appearance of frown lines, the 42-year-old musician is hoping to encourage more people to be less shy about sharing their experiences with injectables.
“What I’m loving right now at this time of my life is opening up more conversation about what we as women are actually doing for ourselves, what we’re experiencing, and what’s helping us as a whole,” she tells Women’s Health. “And why not speak more openly about beauty treatments? We all care about it. We all care about what the smartest choices are for ourselves and for our skin.”
We got some more frank skincare talk from Aguilera, including the drugstore moisturizer she can’t live without.
Aguilera is in love with this drugstore staple
As far as other products that have her approval, the “Not Myself Tonight” singer is a big fan of the Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream for soothing dryness and irritation.
“My skin gets really dry sometimes, especially in my chest area,” she explains, adding that the dry patches on her body really start to become a nuisance when she gets spray tans, since the product will accumulate in the patches. “On days where I’m feeling extra dry or I’m traveling and feeling dehydrated, Cetaphil has a very gentle moisturizer that I love.”

At-home treatments like ice rolling are also a staple in Aguilera’s self-care routine, and it’s a habit she’s picked up in the makeup chair over the years.
“Rolling is an anxiety reducer for me,” she says. “And Lord knows like when I’m feeling anxious or more stressed out, I’m more prone to dryness and breaking out, so anything cooling and refreshing that can ease the stress and the anxiety is a winner for me.”
She’s selective when it comes to in-office procedures
Aguilera is discerning when it comes to injectables especially; she’s a fan of Xeomin because it’s “a more gentle approach” to tackling fine lines and wrinkles.
“As a performer, I have to make sure that there’s a level of expression in my face, and that there’s emotion that’s accessible to my art and my craft,” she says. “I don’t want to feel like I’m too manufactured or putting things in my body that I don’t feel comfortable with.”
Xeomin is a neuromodulator that treats fine lines and wrinkles using a double-filtered formula that removes excess or unnecessary proteins.
