Jeremy Renner has just shared an update on his condition after being seriously injured on New Year’s Day. The actor, best known for playing the superhero Hawkeye over the last 12 years in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, was involved in a snowplow accident at his home in Reno, Nevada on New Year’s Day. He was swiftly airlifted to a hospital following the accident where he was admitted to an intensive care unit in “stable but critical condition.”
Renner, age 52, shared a brief message with concerned fans two days later, saying he was “too messed up now to type” but thanking them for their support. He posted again today, offering a glimpse at the new “morning workouts” he’s doing during his recovery, and revealed that he broke more than 30 bones in the accident.
“Morning workouts, resolutions all changed this particular new years …. Spawned from tragedy for my entire family, and quickly focused into uniting actionable love,” the actor wrote in the caption of a new Instagram post, in which he can be seen undergoing physical rehabilitation.
“I want to thank EVERYONE for their messages and thoughtfulness for my family and I,” Renner continued, and assured his followers that their support hasn’t gone unnoticed, and that while he may have a long road ahead of him, he is confident he can bounce back from his injuries.
“Much love and appreciation to you all,” he said. “These 30 plus broken bones will mend, grow stronger, just like the love and bond with family and friends deepens . Love and blessings to you all.”
