We’ve got used to Chris Hemsworth working his hulking Asgardian frame in some pretty unusual places in recent times – the deck of a Naval ship in the middle of the ocean being the standout. Now, the Hollywood star is again proving that you can work out any time, any place and anywhere by training in the middle of the African bush.
Hemsworth and his wife, Elsa Patasky, have been on an African safari with their children this past week – exploring the countryside and spotting giraffes, elephants and lions. But even though he’s on holiday, the Thor star still found time to slot a workout into his schedule.
Looking as monstrously jacked as ever, Hemsworth posted a Reel to his Instagram of him and his crew getting to grips with a bodyweight and bands workout.
The team were using Centr’s ‘fitness essentials kit’ to complete their session. With a simple set of bands, they were able to make their way through a circuit that included bicep curls, tricep extensions, chest flies, lateral raises and back rows.
The group also managed to fit in some dips, using their Jeep to elevate their upper body, lunges and squats to work their lower half and press-ups and shoulder presses, performed using a random log. Talk about using what’s around you.
Hemsworth recently revealed he plans to take some time away from acting after receiving troubling health news on the set of his recent Disney+ docu-series, Limitless. On the show the Australian-born actor discovered he has a higher-than-average risk of one day developing Alzheimer’s disease.
‘Since we finished the show, I’ve been completing the things I was already contracted to do,’ said Hemsworth. ‘Now when I finish this tour this week, I’m going home and I’m going to have a good chunk of time off and just simplify. Be with the kids, be with my wife.’
