If you’re a fan of My Unorthodox Life, you might already know that a lot has changed since season one. While Julia Haart‘s big split from Silvio Scaglia made headlines, their daughter Miriam also made waves just days after the July 2021 premiere.
Miriam established early on that she identified as bisexual, but the show never highlighted any of her love interests. Well, that’s changing this season.
On July 28, 2021, Miriam took to Instagram to share that she was officially in a relationship with Nathalie Ulander. “Secret’s out, and so am I ❤️,” she wrote in the post. Following her announcement, the couple began regularly posting photos together on social media.
Then, on November 16, Nathalie shared a trailer for season two on social media, and the short clip hints that Miriam will be spilling all the details about their relationship. But for now, read on for everything there is to know about the former Swedish tennis player.
Nathalie is originally from Sweden.
After graduating from Stockholm Idrottsgymnasium, Nathalie Ulander came to the United States on a student visa to attend Tarleton State University in Texas, where she played tennis from 2018 to 2020, according to her player bio.
It’s not clear when she left Texas to move to New York, but in June, she shared a photo of herself celebrating her graduation from Queens College. “A little graduation photo dump :),” she captioned the post.
They first met on a dating app.
In the trailer for season two, Miriam is seen in a confessional sharing details about how they got together. “I met Nathalie through a dating app,” she confessed. “I was looking for sex, but I found love.” The footage also shows the duo looking super smitten and cuddled up.
Back in January, Miriam also opened up about what it’s been like since they started dating. “I love her and feel elated when I’m with her. She’s my first long-term girlfriend, and I relish our moments together,” she told New Scene Magazine.
Nathalie works at Julia and Miriam’s new startup called Haartsphere.
With her student visa expired, Nathalie took up a job at Julia and Miriam’s new startup, Haartsphere. It’s unclear how long she’s been working at the company, but her main goal is to get a working visa to avoid deportation.
Miriam and Nathalie have already considered marriage.
Yup, you read that right. Because Nathalie may have to return to Sweden, the couple even considered getting married to help her get a green card.
But as you might expect, Julia was not a fan of the idea, especially since their relationship is still fresh.
Overall, Miriam’s family is supportive.
Despite not being all in on a speedy marriage, Julia has been supportive of Miriam’s relationship.
During an interview with TODAY, Julia revealed that Miriam was her “last straw.” “Here is a girl who, had I stayed, by 18 she would be married…and that would have been her life,” she explained. “I saw them pushing her down and I couldn’t let it happen anymore.”
Miriam’s sister Batsheva also showed her support for the couple by sharing a post on her story congratulating them.
Are they still together now?

While Nathalie and Miriam still have their photos up and follow each other, they haven’t been in a picture together since April 7 (not including the trailer Nathalie posted a few weeks ago).
Speaking of the trailer, Miriam left platonic-esc. praise hands emojis in the comments, and Nathalie responded with fire emojis. But when a fan jumped in to ask if they were still together, neither commented.
If it turns out that they are no longer, Miriam hinted that it wouldn’t be the most obvious thing in the world. She revealed that she’s still on good terms with her exes and even invited a few of them to a party that airs on the show.
“I paid no attention to the fact that I invited everyone that I dated in New York to my event,” she told New Scene Magazine. “I’m never on bad standings with anyone I broke up with, so it really wasn’t an unpleasant launch party. I think a few of them do talk to each other still to so I’m happy for them!”
