There’s much debate over whether taking a multivitamin offers significant health benefits. That said, it’s generally agreed that taking a high quality multivitamin daily helps increase the amount of nutrients we consume, ultimately filling nutritional deficiencies in one’s diet and leading to several possible health benefits. Despite research showing otherwise, millions of people still err on the side of caution and find themselves searching for the best multivitamin for them. That said, there are plenty of multivitamins for men on the market that will include everything from vitamin A to vitamin C to zinc, but which are best for nutrition or health improvements?
According to the National Institute of Health, high quality, complete multivitamins will include many of the essential substances our bodies need to function including:
- Vitamin, A, C, D2 or D3, E, and K
- B Vitamins: Thiamin, Fiboflavin, Niacin
- B6, B12, and folate
- Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Potassium
Recent joint research from Wake Forest University and Brigham and Women’s Hospital shows that multivitamins can improve thinking skills in older individuals and help stave off cognitive decline. Over 6.5 million Americans are currently living with Alzheimer’s disease (the most common form of dementia). Another large study reports that male physicians aged 50 and older who took a basic multivitamin supplement for about 11 years had a slightly reduced risk of developing cancer, compared with those who took a placebo, according to the National Institutes of Health.
With so many options on the market, it can be difficult to find a multivitamin that is perfectly blended to help meet deficiencies in nutrition and possibly help maintain bone health, heart health, and brain health. StudyFinds set out to find the highest quality men’s multivitamins currently on the market.
For our findings, we visited 10 of the leading health websites to see which men’s multivitamins were rated the highest. Our list is ranked based on the most-recommended men’s multivitamins across these sites.

The List: Best Men’s Daily Multivitamins
1. Ritual Multivitamin
Ritual is one of the most popular multivitamins available, known for its blend of essential vitamins (and its catchy marketing). While many multivitamins are targeted toward older men, this multivitamin rates particularly high for men in their 20s, 30s, and 40s.
“Who said taking a multivitamin has to be an unpleasant experience? Ritual’s Essential vitamins deliver 10 micronutrients (tested for purity by a third-party lab) in delayed-response capsules that are gentle on an empty stomach,” Gear Patrol says.
The brand uses bioavailable nutrients forms like methylcobalamin (vitamin B12) and 5-methyltetrahydrofolate (folate).
“We also love that the capsule contains omega-3s, which are fatty acids that help boost heart and brain health,” Forbes writes in its review.
2. NatureMade Multivitamin
Nutritionists agree that NatureMade’s multivitamin for men is one of the most affordable and comprehensive ones on the market, with its products including zinc, selenium and vitamin D.
“NatureMade’s multivitamins for men come personally recommended thanks to their USP verification, affordability, and lack of extremely high, over-the-top doses of any single nutrient,” Greatist writes.
The multivitamin contains 22 essential vitamins and minerals, without added herbs or superfoods, Healthline notes. Naturemade also offers this multivitamin for those 50 years old and up.
3. MegaFood Men’s One Daily
MegaFood’s multivitamin is one of the few on the market that has methylfolate and a third-party certification.
“Its products are also tested for more than 125 pesticides and herbicides and are certified glyphosate residue-free by The Detox Project,” Healthline notes.
Another perk? Unlike many multivitamins, it can be taken on an empty stomach – saving the headache of coordinating your meals and multivitamins. The supplement offers a good zinc boost for prostate health and testosterone levels, Total Shape writes.
4. SmartyPants Multivitamin
You can have your multivitamin and eat your cake too, apparently. This fruity, chewy multivitamin contains 17 essential nutrients for men and is a favorite for those looking for a convenient way to get that extra dose in.
“For me, it was the antioxidants for heart and prostate health that stood out, which are two areas that can quickly end up being neglected,” a health expert from Total Shape notes.
SmartyPants products are also processed in facilities that meet CGMP standards and the products are third-party tested, according to Healthline.
