Women’s Health cover star Davina McCall took to IG to share a photo in a leopard print bikini with her friend, and she’s serving serious fitspo. Apparently her fans agree with us, too.
One took to the comments section to write: ‘I’m defo hitting the gym tonight 😂🔥 After I’ve finished my huge bowl of pasta ❤️,’ while another added, ‘Davina you are SERIOUSLY STUNNING 🤩 my inspiration 🔥🔥🔥 ❤️❤️❤️,’ and a third said, ‘Go girls!! Amazing ! 👏👏🔥.’
Davina has always been a huge proponent of fitness – both for its mental and physical benefits. ‘’Previously, my “keeping fit and healthy” was all about my body and making myself look hot in a bikini… and actually, now it’s just about staying alive longer and being in the best possible position to beat anything should it come my way,’ she told WH.
Looking amazing is a byproduct of her realistic and consistent approach to fitness, and her last bikini post back in April this year is proof that she really does stay strong year-round:
What exactly does she do? ‘No two days are the same for me, which is exciting and interesting, but it also makes it really difficult to plan anything,’ says Davina to WH. ‘That’s why my working out has to be really fluid.’
Walking is a huge part of her routine. Davina gets her steps in daily by walking her dog, telling WH it’s the canine’s cries that get her up most mornings: ‘My dog has a sixth sense for when I am awake,’ she explains. ‘So the minute I put my feet on the floor by the bed, she starts whining.’
She loves a resistance workout, too, and is a big fan of weighted gloves. ‘If I could only workout with one piece of kit for the rest of my life, weighted gloves would be it,’ Davina told WH.’I use them for walks, for all my exercise – even if I’m using dumbbells, I’ll still wear them. They’re just half a kg, but you’ll feel it. They’re the single greatest piece of kit I’ve ever used.’
Davina’s fitness app, Own Your Goals, also helps her to stay fit.
‘I know it must seem odd that I work out to my own platform but that’s what inspired me to build it,’ she wrote in an Instagram caption. ‘I know if I just do a workout at home alone I don’t work out as hard as I do when I’m being instructed… and I don’t shortcut!’
In fact, it’s the range of workouts on OYG that Davina credits with being its #1 selling point:
‘What’s so good about that is there are loads of different workouts, with loads of different teachers – I can choose whether I want to do a quick 10 minutes, or a mega-blast 45 minutes, which is really what I need in my ever-changing life,’ she previously told us.
Love that for you, Davina.
