Cancer in women is unfortunately prevalent in the frum community (R”L) and is often diagnosed once advanced to the point of being difficult to treat. Modern medicine has developed sophisticated and highly effective tools to detect cancer when it is easily treatable and in some cases to prevent the occurrence in the first place.
Though these tools are widely available, many people lack the awareness of how to prevent and detect women’s cancer until the diagnosis is already at an advanced stage. With up to date screening and understanding on the role of genetics, women’s cancer can be prevented or easily detected early on.
Sharsheret is an organization specializing in women’s cancer in the Jewish community. Come hear from their expert team and learn about genetics, screening, signs, and more. This valuable information is life saving and can make all the difference.
The Sharsheret team includes:
Dr. Tova Koenigsberg MD, FACR is the Director of the Regional Women’s Imaging at NY-Presbyterian, the Chief of Women’s Imaging at Hudson Valley Hospital and an Associate Professor of Radiology at Columbia University.
