STEUBENVILLE — Vehicle sales at a local dealership translated into a $13,200 donation Friday to Trinity Health System’s Women’s Imaging Fund.
TEAM Ford/Toyota General Managers Mark and Justin Teramana presented the check to Catherine Poludniak, director of the Trinity Health System Foundation. Toyota matched the $6,600 raised at the dealership, bringing the total to $13,200.
“We raised the money throughout the month of October, through our car sales,” Mark Teramana said. “We made a $100 donation for each and every vehicle that we sold.”
He said it’s the second year they’ve made raised money for the imaging center, “and we plan on making it a yearly thing.”
He said on any given day they cross paths with someone impacted by cancer, whether it’s a co-worker, a customer or a sales rep.
“Every single day there’s someone who’s been affected by it someone is always fighting that battle even if they’re not going through it at the moment, they’re still recovering on the other end of it.
“We’re just trying to do something to help them out — it’s a hard battle to fight, but they keep on fighting it.
Poludniak said donations to the Women’s Imaging Fund “support the care” women with cancer receive,
“Last year, they were actually a part of purchasing a very vital piece of equipment that helps breast cancer diagnosis,” Poludniak said.
“It’s a locating needle for biopsy — it dignifies the process for the patient, and it also increases the accuracy that the surgeon has available.”
