Fans were shocked Thursday night when news broke that Lisa Marie Presley had died after reportedly going into cardiac arrest. Her mom, Priscilla Presley, shared the news with news outlets in a public statement.
“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” Priscilla said in the statement, per the Associated Press. “She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever known.”
Priscilla didn’t specify what led to her daughter’s death, but she revealed on Instagram, just hours before, that Lisa Marie had been “rushed to the hospital,” noting that she was “receiving the best care.”
Los Angeles County paramedics were called to a home where Lisa Marie lives after a report of a woman in cardiac arrest, according to the AP. Emergency medical personnel arrived about six minutes later, performed CPR, and found signs of life before she was taken to a nearby hospital, the AP says.
